NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra modi and its counterpart of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel will hold a virtual summit on Thursday, which will cover the entire spectrum of the bilateral relationship, the Foreign Ministry (MEA) said on Tuesday.
It will be the first independent summit meeting between India and Luxembourg in the past two decades, the MEA said.
“The leaders will discuss the full spectrum of the bilateral relationship, including the strengthening of India-Luxembourg cooperation in the post-Covid world. They will also exchange views on international and global issues of mutual interest,” he said.
India and Luxembourg have continued to maintain high-level exchanges in the recent past. The two prime ministers have met three times previously.
Luxembourg is one of the most important financial centers in the world. Several Indian companies have raised capital by issuing global certificates of deposit (GDR) on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
A number of Luxembourg-based mutual funds hold substantial market share of the banking and asset management market in portfolio investments in India.
