Srinagar:
The leaders of the People’s Alliance in Jammu and Kashmir attacked and ridiculed the Union Interior Minister, Amit Shah, for his allegation that they are involved in getting “foreign forces to intervene” in removing Article 370 and bringing back ” terror and confusion. ” Both Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, archrivals who came together to fight for the restoration of special status, suggested that the minister was upset at the prospect of a contest with local powers during the elections.
Ms Mufti tweeted that making such accusations does not suit the BJP. “Irony died a million deaths from his own BJP violating the constitution day after day,” his tweet read.
“I can understand the frustration behind this attack from the Honorable Minister of the Interior. He was informed that the Popular Alliance was preparing to boycott the elections. This would have allowed the BJP and the newly formed King’s party to run free in J&K. please, “tweeted former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

“Only at J&K can leaders be arrested and called anti-national for participating in elections and supporting the democratic process. The truth is that all those who oppose the ideology of the BJP are labeled as” corrupt and anti-national, “” another of your tweets. read.
Ms. Mufti agreed. “Fighting the elections in an alliance is also anti-national now. BJP can unite so many alliances in its hunger for power, but somehow we are undermining the national interest by raising a united front,” read another of his three tweets.
Accusing the BJP of using an “outdated tactic of dividing India,” he said: “Love jihad, tukde tukde and now Gupkar Gang dominates political discourse rather than rising unemployment and inflation.
Over the years, the Mehbooba Mufti People’s Democratic Party and the National Conference have maintained firm control over the Kashmir Valley. The BJP had a strong presence only in Jammu.
No elections have been held in Jammu and Kashmir since the BJP ended its alliance with the Mufti PDP in June 2018, which has greatly affected the state’s political parties.
The elections were expected to take place with last year’s general election, but the Election Commission refused, citing law and order issues in the state, which was under the Governor’s Rule.
In August, the Center removed the special status of the state granted by the Constitution and divided it into two Union Territories. As one of the preventive measures taken to stop the backlash, hundreds of political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir were arrested.
Omar Abdullah and his father Farooq Abdullah were released before the confinement. Mehbooba Mufti was released last month.
The “Declaration of the Popular Alliance for Gupkar” was later formed to fight for the restoration of article 370 and a resolution to Kashmir. The alliance has now decided to contest the elections.
Earlier today, Union Minister Amit Shah attacked the Jammu and Kashmir political parties and Congress.
“Congress and the Gupkar Gang want to bring J&K back into the age of terror and unrest. They want to take away the rights of Dalits, women and tribes that we have secured by removing Article 370. That is why they are being rejected by people everywhere, “his tweet read.
