The granddaughter of BJP deputy Rita Bahuguna Joshi succumbs to firecracker burns


The granddaughter of BJP deputy Rita Bahuguna Joshi, who was burned by firecrackers, succumbed Tuesday morning in Prayagraj.

Six-year-old Kia had suffered 60% burns from firecrackers and was being treated at a private hospital in Prayagraj. According to the information, Kia was to be flown to Delhi for further treatment, but succumbed earlier today. The Joshi family is deeply shocked after the death of their granddaughter.

The Prayagraj MP had spoken with Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and CM Yogi Adityanath after the accident and sought help for better treatment. Kia was to be treated at the Delhi Military Hospital.

The accident occurred due to the explosion of a firecracker on Diwali night. The six-year-old was cured of Corona a few days ago. She was treated together with Rita Joshi and other family members in a hospital in Gurgaon.

BJP MP from the Allahabad parliamentary seat, Rita Bahuguna Joshi, has also been a cabinet minister in the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government in the state.
