Mi, Redmi, Poco Phone Users Facing Bootloop Problem, Xiaomi Promises Solution

Mi, Redmi and Poco users face an issue that puts their phones in a bootloop, causing them to reboot over and over again. The issue, which appears to have affected a large number of users, arises after the phones receive an error saying, “Search for unexpectedly closed device.” Although Xiaomi is investigating the problem, the company has pointed out in a statement that it arose due to certain lines of code that misbehave during the update of an application. A solution has also been promised that the company says will reach affected users shortly.

Based on user reports on social media, phones running MIUI 12.05 Global Stable ROM seem to have had an impact primarily due to the issue. Affected users are unable to make any changes from their endpoint as the phones begin to cycle through the reboot. Some users also lost their data as they finally had to reset their phones.

The problem is not limited to a certain smartphone model and has been reported by a list of Mi, Redmi, and Poco devices, including Mi 10T Pro, Mi 10, Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and Poco X3. , among others. Also, it is not likely to be limited to India as a Nigerian user also reported an identical problem on Twitter.

Xiaomi acknowledged the problem in the statement to Gadgets 360 and said it was due to an update to the app. The company also assured that an update would arrive this week. Meanwhile, some “temporary containment measures” are already in place, according to Xiaomi.

“This solution may require consumers to flash their devices at a service center,” the company said. However, it is not clear if the solution would cause data loss for affected users.

Xiaomi did not provide any clarity on which application is causing the problem to users. However, some users speculate that it was due to the Airtel Thanks app.

Airtel Global CIO Harmeen Mehta in a tweet aware on Saturday he stressed that the telecommunications company had worked with Xiaomi to find the cause and was preparing a solution. He also claimed that a small tweak had already been provided in the Airtel Thanks app to temporarily resolve the issue.

That being said, there is no clarity on how affected users could fix the bootloop issue on their devices. Airtel, for its part, also did not provide any details on whether it would provide a resolution via a server-side update for the Airtel Thanks application, as the issue apparently does not allow users to access the application or install any of its updates. from Google Play.
