NEW DELHI: Delhi Police Commissioner SN Shrivastava they patrolled the capital in Diwali night to take stock of security arrangements and strengthen trust between junior cop.
The senior police officer visited various service points and residential neighborhoods of police personnel to greet them on the occasion of Diwali and also distributed sweets to the policemen on the ground.
The commissioner also interacted with field officials and expressed his solidarity by telling the police that the senior officers accompanied them as a family as they do their duty.
“While the entire city is bustling with activity and busy celebrating the festival, police personnel are very vigilant in guarding them away from their families to ensure the holiday spirit is not disturbed,” said Shrivastava.
The senior police officer also went to the Asoka Police Lines and RK Puram police colonies and greeted the residents with a happy, safe and prosperous Diwali.
He distributed sweets to the children of the police families and also urged police personnel and their families to be extremely careful and help contain the spread of the Corona virus. He reiterated that we should all wear masks and practice social distancing and also motivate others to follow these precautions to combat the virus, “said a police spokesman.
