J&K: At Least 8 Pakistani Army Soldiers Killed in Retaliation for Indian Army Shooting, Sources Say | India News


NEW DELHI: at least eight Pakistani Army Soldiers died Friday in retaliation for gunfire by Indian army in response to ceasefire violations from across the Line of Control in Jammu and KashmirArmy sources said.
“The list from Among the killed Pakistan Army soldiers are 2-3 commandos from the Pakistan Army Special Service Group (SSG), “said Indian Army sources.
In a tweet, the Defense Ministry spokesman said that the Indian military inflicted heavy losses on Pakistan in retaliation.
“Pakistan initiated an unprovoked violation of the ceasefire using mortars and other weapons throughout the LoC spread across multiple sectors including Dawar, Keran, Uri & Naugam, deliberately targeting civilian areas. Our troops retaliated strongly causing substantial damage to the Pakistani army infrastructure and casualties throughout the LoC, “another tweet reads.
“Several ammunition depots, FOL depots and multiple terrorist launch pads have been damaged,” the spokesman said.

Earlier today, three members of the Indian security forces were among six people killed in multiple ceasefire violations committed by Pakistani troops along the Line of Control (LoC) since Gurez sector to the Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, authorities said.

They said Pakistani troops fired mortars and other weapons.
In the Nambla sector of Uri, two army soldiers were killed in the Pakistani gunfire, officials said.
A BSF deputy inspector was also killed in the Haji Peer sector, while a jawan was injured, they said.
Two civilians were killed in the Kamalkote sector in the Uri area of Baramulla District while a woman was killed in the Balkote area in the Haji Peer sector of Uri, they added.
Officials said several people were injured in the Pakistani assault.
They said that apart from several places in Uri, the ceasefire violations were reported from Izmarg in the Gurez sector of the Bandipora district and the Keran sector of the Kupwara district.
A defense spokesman said the Army thwarted an infiltration attempt, which was aided by the ceasefire violation, throughout the LoC in the Keran sector.
Almost all BSF units throughout the LoC have faced heavy gunfire since morning and effective retaliation has been mounted by troops, artillery regiment and supporting weapons, said a senior officer of the force.
The BSF works under the operational command of the Army in the LoC.
