Earlier this month, the Chief Minister of Karnataka announced a ban on crackers during Deepaval. However, he soon retracted the ban and announced that ‘green cookies’ would be allowed.

On Thursday, after the Superior Court asked the state government to explain what a green cookie is, Anjum Parvez, chief secretary of the Department of Revenue, issued a new order indicating that the green CSIR-NEERI logo and the QR codes will help identify the green cookies. .
