Mumbai Indians SUV Krunal Pandya was detained at Mumbai airport upon arrival from the UAE after the conclusion of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL). The eldest of the Pandya brothers was detained by officials of DRI at the airport on suspicion of wearing undisclosed gold jewelry and other similar items.

“Cricketer Krunal Pandya was detained by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) at Mumbai International Airport on suspicion of being in possession of undisclosed gold and other valuables, while returning from the UAE,” sources said. DRI.

It has now become known that Krunal was, in fact, in possession of gold items and some high-end luxury watches, including those gifted to him by the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI) when he arrived in Mumbai from Dubai. The two Pandya brothers are said to like luxury watches. In fact, Krunal and his brother Hardik often flaunt their watches on Instagram.

According to a report by the IANS news agency, Krunal bought some extremely valuable gold chains and other items, but the total value of his purchases exceeded the limit allowed under Indian law. The case has now been referred to the customs department.

Pandya is said to have apologized for the same and claimed he was unaware of the allowed limit. He also agreed to pay the fines for bringing these items to India and promised not to repeat the mistake again.

Krunal, from a personal point of view, did not have one of his most productive IPL seasons. The left arm spinner scored 109 runs in 12 innings and collected just 6 wickets. Having joined the Mumbai Indians in 2016, Krunal has enjoyed great success with the franchise, having represented them in a total of 71 games so far, winning three titles.
