US President Donald Trump has continued his spiel against the election results that have cast Joe Biden, a Democrat, as the 46th President of the United States. Trump has targeted Dominion Voting Systems for its unproven claims of voter fraud, tweeting an unsubstantiated story from One America News Network, a pro-Trump far-right cable channel.
The outgoing president tried to expand on the baseless claim that “Dominion knocked out 2.7 million Trump votes nationwide.” Citing “data analysis,” the Republican leader tweeted that 221,000 Pennsylvania votes switched from Trump to Biden and that 941,000 votes were removed from Trump. The tweet has already been flagged by the microblogging platform, warning that the claim is in dispute.

What is Dominion Voting Systems?
Dominion Voting Systems Corporation is a North American based company that offers voting machines and tabulators in the United States and Canada. Up to 28 states used Dominion voting machines, or tabs, to scan paper ballots in American elections. Dominion tabs are programmed to scan hand-marked paper ballots.
After the tabulators finish scanning the ballots, the paper ballots are held and a tape of totals is printed from the machine showing the number of votes for each candidate. The county clerks use the election management system software, which combines the tabulation totals, to report the unofficial results.

Dominion verified Trump’s claim
Dominion Voting Systems denied claims about vote shifting or alleged software problems with its voting systems. The company verified that eliminating 2.7 million votes for President Trump, including 941,000 in Pennsylvania, is “mathematically impossible.” He claimed that Dominion serves 14 counties in Pennsylvania that produced 1.3 million votes and 52 percent of those votes went to President Trump.
Calculating that, Dominion processed about 676,000 votes for president in Pennsylvania. There were never 941,000 votes to ‘eliminate’, “he concluded.
In Antrim County, Michigan, the clerk did not update the software, despite the fact that the tabulators counted all the ballots correctly, resulting in inaccurate unofficial results. Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said in a statement that the Dominion software did not cause a misallocation of votes, as it was the result of human error, which was detected during county ballots. Benson emphasized that even if the error in the reported unofficial results had not been quickly noticed, it would have been identified during county scrutiny, adding that there are many checks and balances that ensure errors can be detected and corrected.
“The county canvassing boards, which are comprised of 2 Democrats and 2 Republicans, review the tape of printed totals for each tabulator during the count to verify that the reported vote totals are correct,” the statement read.
