PATNA: Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Chirag Paswan said on Wednesday that his aim was to dent the votes of Janta Dal-United JD (U) in the electoral battle and also make sure his candidate does not affect the Bharatiya Party. Janata (BJP).
“My goal was to dent JD (U) and I worked on it. I also focused on that we should not affect the BJP and asked my workers to support it. My goal was to provide more seats to BJP and harm JD (U).” LJP will improve its performance in 2025, “Paswan told ANI here.
Paswan was satisfied with the LJP’s performance at the polls and will prepare for the Bihar elections in 2025.
“The performance of LJP is satisfactory. We would have been happy if we could have won more, but in 9-10 seats we lost by a narrow margin. We met our goal of increasing the percentage of votes by 6 percent and people believed in Bihar First Bihari First agenda. Strengthening the BJP was also a goal. Now we have new strength and with this, we are preparing for the 2025 elections, “added Paswan.
Chirag also recommended that the opposition accept defeat gracefully and not blame the EVM or the electoral administration.
Earlier, the LJP chief congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the victory of the National Democratic Alliance in the 2020 Bihar assembly elections and said that Bihar Prime Minister Nitish Kumar won only by Prime Minister Modi.
Chirag said that voters in Bihar have expressed their faith in PM Modi and the BJP needs to be strengthened in Bihar to usher in development in the state.
In the 2020 Bihar elections, out of the 243 seats, 125 have gone in favor of the ruling coalition led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and 110 to rival the Grand Alliance. The RJD emerged as the largest party in the House with 75 seats. The LJP won only one seat.
