Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, whose government recorded a crucial victory in the state elections by winning 19 out of 28 seats, praised his wife as his “strength and inspiration” in a tweet shared this morning.
“You are the support of every victory in my life. You are the source of my strength and inspiration. If you are with me, there will always be victory,” wrote the Chief Minister in Hindi.
Shivraj Singh Chouhan was responding to an early morning tweet from his wife, Sadhna Singh Chouhan, who congratulated him on the election result. She posted a photo showing her leaning over a table to feed her a celebratory candy and wrote, “Congratulations on the win.”

The BJP won 19 out of a total of 28 seats where by-elections were held in Madhya Pradesh, decimating the Congress which managed to secure only 8 seats.
The vote took place on November 3 in all 28 seats. The by-elections were necessary after the resignation of 25 MLAs and the death of three legislators earlier. In March this year, 22 MLAs from Congress resigned from the State Assembly, paving the way for Shivraj Singh Chouhan of the BJP to take over as Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh for the fourth time.
The vote count, which began at 8 a.m., finally ended around 3 a.m. on Wednesday.
Mr. Chouhan called the verdict a victory for the people of Madhya Pradesh, saying, “This is the victory of development! This is the victory of faith! This is the victory of social justice! This is The victory of democracy! This is the victory of the people of Madhya Pradesh! The people gave their blessings to BJP and expressed their trust in us. I promise that they will not let anything affect the welfare of the state. “
