A vacation court of Judges DY Chandrachud and Indira Banerjee asked the State if there was a need for a custody questioning of Mr. Goswami since the issue relates to personal liberty.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court questioned the Maharashtra government for its 2018 complicity in the suicide case against journalist Arnab Goswami and said it would be a travesty of justice if a person’s personal freedom were restricted in this way.

A vacation court of Judges DY Chandrachud and Indira Banerjee asked the State if there was a need for a custody questioning of Mr. Goswami since the issue relates to personal liberty.

The bank observed that Indian democracy is extraordinarily resilient and the Maharashtra government must ignore all this (Arnab’s mockery on television).

“Whatever your ideology, at least I don’t even see your channel, but if in this case the constitutional courts do not interfere today, we are walking the path of destruction without a doubt,” said Judge Chandrachud, adding: “the Is the point to deny a person’s personal freedom because of these accusations? ”

The higher court is hearing Goswami’s guilty plea seeking provisional bail in the case of alleged complicity in the suicide of an interior designer in 2018.

Mr. Goswami has challenged the November 9 order of the Bombay High Court refusing to grant him and two other persons a provisional bond in the case and asked them to transfer to the trial court for redress.
