Praising RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for putting up an “energetic fight” in the Bihar Assembly polls, Shiv Sena today criticized the BJP saying that if Nitish Kumar retains the post of Chief Minister despite the fact that the JD ( U) wins fewer seats, credit should go to Shiv Sena.
He said that the BJP had promised that Nitish Kumar would be Bihar’s next Chief Minister even if his party gets fewer seats.
The BJP had made a similar promise to Shiv Sena during the 2019 Maharashra Assembly elections, but as that word was not kept, it led to political drama in the state, the party led by Uddhav Thackeray claimed.
An editorial in Shiv Sena’s spokesperson ‘Saamana’ said that JD (U) failed to win even 50 seats in the Bihar elections, while the BJP won more than 70 seats.
“BJP leader Amit Shah had announced that Nitish Kumar would become prime minister even if his party won fewer seats. But the Shiv Sena received a similar guarantee during the 2019 Assembly elections in Maharashtra, which was not honored and the state witnessed a political ‘Mahabharat’, “he said.
“If Nitish Kumar becomes prime minister despite winning fewer seats, his credit should go to Shiv Sena,” he added.
