Chirag Paswan’s (LJP) Lok Janshakti party may have cost Nitish Kumar’s NDA 39 seats

In accordance with the intentions of the LJP, most of these 39 seats were those in which Janata Dal (United) of Nitish Kumar participated.

Of these 39 seats, 33 were lost by the JD (U). This is roughly equal to the current lead of the BJP over the JD (U), lending more credence to the theories that it was the BJP that pushed the LJP to run candidates against the JD (U) to weaken Nitish Kumar.

After JD (U), the party most affected by this is the Vikassheel Insan Party, which lost 4 of those seats. Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustan Awam Morcha also lost one of those seats, as did, surprisingly, the BJP.

Here is the list of seats where the LJP got more votes than the margin between the winning candidate and the defeated NDA candidate.
