Asaduddin Owaisi, led by All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen, who received labels as ‘vote cutter’ and spoiler in Bihar assembly polls, appeared set to win five Muslim-dominated seats on Tuesday and said that his critics have gotten an adequate response from the people.

With election results on the razor’s edge, AIMIM could play a key role in shaping the next government should there be a hung assembly, having captured a considerable number of seats in the Seemanchal region of the state, which was viewed as a bastion. of the great opposition alliance.

AIMIM national spokesperson Asim Waqar told PTI that Owaisi will make a final decision on who AIMIM could endorse in the event of a hung assembly, but he ruled out supporting the BJP, stating that his party’s fight has always been against the party. saffron. Before the vote in the third phase of the polls, Congress had dubbed AIMIM the BJP’s “B team” and accused the party of colluding with the BJP. The head of the Bihar unit of Congress, Madan Mohan Jha, had said that AIMIM will not have any significant impact on the assembly polls as people will not “waste” their votes.

When asked about the congressional claim and the Mahagathbandhan called him a “vote cutter”, Waqar said: “Those who call us have an adequate answer and their mouths now will also be shut in the future.”

On whether his party would probably go with Mahagathbandhan or the NDA, he said: “The decision will be made by Asad (Owaisi) sahab, but the reality is that our fight is against the BJP and for the country. So the BJP and its alliance don’t appear anywhere on our list. “

Expressing happiness for AIMIM’s performance, he said that party workers expected such a result as they had worked hard on the ground for the past five years.

According to the latest available trends, AIMIM had taken a substantial advantage of Amour, Kochadhaman, Jokihat, Bahadurganj and Baisi.

The Owaisi-led AIMIM appears to have made a big dent in the vote for Mahagathbandhan in the Seemanchal region in the third round of the polls.

AIMIM was in the fray for 20 seats in the Bihar polls, most of which went to the polls in the third phase on November 7, as part of the Great Secular Democratic Front which has four other parties, including the Rashtriya Party. Lok Samta of Upendra Kushwaha and the Bahujan Samaj Party.
