NEW DELHI: The number of Covid-19 cases from India increased to 85,91,730 with 38,073 infections reported in one day, while the number of people who have recovered from the disease rose to 79,59,406, raising the National recovery rate to 92.64 percent, according to the Union Health Ministry data were updated on Tuesday.
The coronavirus death toll rose to 1,27,059 with 448 new deaths, updated data showed at 8 a.m.
The fatality rate for Covid-19 is 1.48 percent.
The number of active cases remained below 6 lakh for the twelfth consecutive day. There are 5,05,265 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country to date, comprising 5.88 percent of the total number of cases, according to the data.
India’s Covid-19 count had crossed the 20 lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, and 40 lakh on September 5.
It passed 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, and crossed 80 lakh on October 29.
According to the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR), as of November 9 a cumulative total of 11,96,15,857 samples have been analyzed with 10,43,665 samples analyzed on Monday.
