The Mumbai star has led the franchise to the IPL final for the first time and will look to guide the team to a historic victory in the final. Delhi Capitals to face reigning IPL champions Mumbai Indians in the decider for the title on Tuesday (November 10).
Delhi reached the final after beating the Sunrisers Hyderabad by 17 runs in second qualifying on Sunday. Having lost top seed by 57 races, Delhi rallied in style to beat SRH in form. Batting first, they were 189 of 3 in the 20 assigned overs. Shikhar Dhawan starred with the bat and set the maximum for the winger, scoring 78 of 50 balls.
In response, SRH finished 172 of 8. In form Kane Williamson scored another fifty fighters, but it was ultimately to no avail. The New Zealand skipper scored 67 on 45 balls. Kagiso Rabada and Marcus Stoinis impressed with the ball for Delhi Capitals. Rabada collected four plots of land, including three in three legal deliveries on the 19th.
On the other hand, Stoinis, who scored 38 opening innings, collected 3 wickets for 26 in three overs. The Australian off-roader chose Williamson’s all-important wicket on the 17th, putting Delhi firmly in the driver’s seat.
