Actress Kangana Ranaut has again attacked the Maharashtra government as she demanded the release of journalist Arnab Goswami. The newscaster is in court custody in a 2018 suicide complicity case.
On Monday afternoon, Kangana tweeted: “Ye sattaon ke thekedaar gareebon ka haq maar ke jo baithe hai, bade vichar hain ye kismet ke maare hamse poochte hai ye iraade hamare, ham ko iss ladai se kya haasil hoga tanashahon, ek ghar banaya tha wo bhi tudwa kar baithe hain #WeWantArnabBack (These power contractors who have let the poor down question our intentions, what will we get from the fight against despots, I had a house and even that one has been destroyed) ”.
Kangana has been a vocal supporter of Arnab. Earlier, in a video shared on Twitter, she had said: “I want to ask the Maharashtra government that today, you entered Arnab Goswami’s house, beat him, pulled his hair, attacked him. How many houses are you going to break? How many throats will you drown, how many people will you pull by their hair, and how many voices will you silence? Sonia Sena, how many mouths are you going to gag? These voices will continue to grow. Before us, so many martyrs were beheaded, hanged for their right to freedom of expression. It does not matter, you will be silent, many others will get up. “
Goswami and two other people, Feroze Shaikh and Nitish Sarda, were arrested by Alibaug police on November 4 in connection with the suicide of architect and interior designer Anvay Naik and his mother in 2018, over alleged non-payment of fees for part of the companies of the accused. He was later placed in preventive detention until November 18 with the other defendants.
