Aside from her brilliant bowling performance, the orthodox left-arm roulette wheel made headlines for other reasons as well.
The third and last game of 2020 Women’s T20 Challenge witnessed an exciting romance between Trailblazers and Supernovas. The game went to the end and in the end the Supernovae, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, were victorious by two runs. With this victory, the Supernovas have finalized a ticket for themselves in the league final against the Trailblazers.
In this life or death match, the draw was in favor of the Supernovae and they chose to hit first. Starting hitter Priya Punia initially struggled to get going, but her counterpart Chamari Athapaththu made sure the scoring kept going. The two achieved a starting position of 89 races, with Salma Khatun giving the Trailblazers the first breakthrough.
Captain Harmanpreet, who came to bat at No. 3 and Chamari began to hit and the two scored 31 of 29 and 67 runs of 48 deliveries respectively. However, the Supernovas were somewhat unlucky as their three players were out late in innings and the team had to settle for a total of 146 in 20 overs.
Radha Yadav writes the victory of the Supernovae
The Trailblazers got off to a good start thanks to a 44-race grandstand between Deandra Dottin and Smriti mandhana. While Dottin broke 27 runs of 15 deliveries, Captain Smriti scored 33 of 40 deliveries. However, they began to lose land after the sixth, and as a result, the execution rate began to pile up.
Pacemaker Shakera Selman named Dottin’s window price, giving her team a much-needed advance along with Richa Ghosh, who came at bat at No. 3, on the same change. The equation finally narrowed to 56 runs from the last five overs when Deepti Sharma and Harleen Deol teamed up. The two of them started hitting the limits and took singles or doubles to make sure they shifted momentum to their side.
In the end, the game turned exciting as the Trailblazers needed ten runs out of the last six deliveries from spinner Radha Yadav. Radha had six runs on the first four balls, but took Harleen’s wicket on the next ball to shatter the Trailblazers’ hopes. Due to Radha’s heroism, the Supernovae clicked the match for 2 runs.
Aside from his brilliant bowling performance, the left arm orthodox roulette wheel also made headlines for other reasons. After choosing Harleen’s wicket in the final, Radha got excited and was caught swearing “Be *** c ** d” on camera.
