'We did it, Joe': when Kamala Harris called Biden after winning. Clock

Senator Kamala Harris will serve as Vice President, the nation’s No. 2 office.

New Delhi:

Kamala Harris today shared a video of her phone call with US President-elect Joe Biden shortly after the US presidential election was called for the Democratic candidate.

“We did it, Joe. You’re going to be the next president of the United States,” Mrs. Harris, who is apparently out for a walk, is heard saying to Biden.

Joe Biden became the president-elect of the United States on Saturday after achieving victory in the battlefield state of Pennsylvania, which took him well beyond the electoral college threshold of 270 votes. The former vice president would become the oldest president in US history upon his inauguration, at 78 years old.

Senator Kamala Harris will be the first woman, the first African American and the first American of Asian descent to serve as vice president, the second office in the country.

“While I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last,” Harris said in her first address to the nation as vice president-elect.
