CHANDIGARH: Haryana’s BJP-JJP coalition government, led by CM Manohar Lal Khattar, granted Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the controversial boss of Dera Sacha Sauda, a day of probation in October.

The dera chief, currently incarcerated in Rohtak following his conviction in cases of rape and murder – He was granted parole to meet his sick mother who is hospitalized in Gurgaon, senior sources said. The dera chief was transferred under tight security from Sunaria prison to Gurgaon hospital on 24 October and stayed with his mother until the night.
Sources said TOI that three Haryana police companies – one company has 80-100 Jawans – were involved. The dera chief was transported from prison and back in a curtained police vehicle. In Gurgaon, police vehicles were parked in the basement of the hospital and the entire floor where his mother was under treatment was left empty. “We had received a request from the prison superintendent seeking security for Ram Rahim’s visit to Gurgaon. We had provided security during their transportation from sunrise to sunset on October 24th. Everything remained in peace ”, confirmed Rohtak SP Rahul Sharma to TOI. Only the CM and some senior officials in the Haryana government had information about the exercise, which was apparently carried out on the instructions of the BJP’s top brass. Even the Jawans did not know the identity of the person they were escorting.
According to experts, by granting him parole in this way, the Haryana authorities have created permanent grounds for him to apply for parole in the future.
