Honda hits H’Ness CB350, Royal Enfield strikes back with Meteor 350

The battle in the retro cruiser segment space seems to be intensifying with the new launches. Just a few weeks ago Honda released their H’Ness CB350 motorcycle which has received a very positive response from the market and now Royal Enfield has released the Meteor 350 motorcycle which is a direct replacement for the Thunderbird 350X. Here’s how the two compare in terms of technical specs.

Under the skin:

Honda has created a new engine for the H’ness CB 350. It is a 346cc, air-cooled single-cylinder unit known to produce 21PS and 30Nm. If the official claims are to be believed, the power of this engine is on par with rivals in the segment and Honda says that particular emphasis has been placed on the “low-end torque and drivability” of this train power. On the other hand, the Meteor 350 also has a new 349 cc single cylinder engine that generates 20.2 hp and 27 Nm of torque at 4000 rpm. Both bikes have a five-speed transmission.

features:

The H’Ness is a bit more equipped compared to its archrival and has some of the best driving and electronic assistance features for its segment. For example, there is Honda’s Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Honda’s Smartphone Voice Control System (HSVCS), Assist and Slipper Clutch, and Dual Channel ABS. On the other hand, the Meteor 350 has a tripper turn-by-turn navigation system and dual channel ABS.

Prices:

While the H’Ness CB 350 starts from 1.85 lakh for the base DLX variant, the price ranges up to 1.90 lakh for the higher DLX Pro variant. Royal Enfield has managed to reduce the price by a slight margin as the Meteor 350 starts from 1.75 lakh for the base Fireball variant, and extends up to 1.91 lakh for the high spec Supernova variant. (All prices are ex-showroom)
