Coronavirus Cases in India: Overall recoveries stood at 77.66 lakhs, an increase of 54,157 from yesterday.

India reported 47,638 new COVID-19 cases today, 5% less than yesterday. The total number of cases in the country therefore came to 84.11 lakh, with 1.24,985 deaths. However, the total number of active cases dropped by 7,189 to just over 5.2 lakhs. Overall recoveries stood at 77.66 lakhs, an increase of 54,157 from yesterday. Maharashtra topped the list of states with the maximum number of active COVID-19 cases at 1,07,358, as of today, which is lower at 6,287 since yesterday. Overall, the state has 17,03,444 cases so far with 44,804 deaths, 256 in the last 24 hours alone.

Coronavirus: Assam’s COVID-19 count reaches 2,08,054
Assam reported 313 new COVID-19 cases and 761 discharges on Thursday, bringing the total cases in the state to 2,08,054, said state Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The total number of cases includes 1,99,455 discharges and 934 deaths. Active cases of the virus amount to 7,662.
Coronavirus: With 355 new COVID-19 cases, Jharkhand’s count reaches 1,03,543
Jharkhand reported 355 new COVID-19 cases and 484 recoveries on Thursday, bringing the number of cases here to 1,03,543, the state Department of Health said. The total number of cases includes 97,964 recoveries, 894 deaths, and 4,685 active cases.
India and Other Countries Face Travel Ban to China Amid Rising COVID-19 Cases
China has decided to temporarily suspend the entry of foreign nationals from India even with valid visas or residence permits due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Chinese embassy in New Delhi said on Thursday. Indian government sources said the order was not specific to India and Beijing, concerned about COVID-19 cases, has issued similar orders for other countries. Air pollution contributes 15% to covid mortality, Green Court reported

Air pollution is a major cofactor that increases the risk of mortality from COVID-19 according to the latest research, the National Green Court reported.

China bans foreign arrivals for fear of coronavirus resurgence

The Chinese embassy in the UK said on Wednesday that Beijing had decided to “temporarily suspend” the entry from Britain of non-Chinese nationals.

Since then, embassies in Belgium, the Philippines, India, Ukraine and Bangladesh have posted similar notices.

Covid-19 first emerged in central China late last year, but Beijing has largely controlled its outbreak through strict travel restrictions and strict health measures for anyone entering the country.
