In his first reaction to the election results, Trump tweeted: “We are in a BIG time, but they are trying to STEAL the election. We will never let them do it. No votes can be cast after the polls close! “The tweet was placed behind a warning on the president’s account that the content shared is” in dispute and could be misleading about an election or other civic process. “Twitter has taken similar action against Trump’s account in the past.

Similarly, Facebook also pointed to that particular post from President Trump.

“The final results may be different from the initial vote counts, as the ballot count will continue for days and weeks,” Facebook said, citing the Center for Bipartisan Policy.

The social media giant also pointed to Trump’s second post in which he claimed he is winning big and will be making a statement soon.

“I will be making a statement tonight. Big PROFIT! ” he said.

In marking the post, Facebook said that “the winner of the 2020 US presidential election has not been projected.” Earlier, Twitter placed a warning in a Trump campaign tweet declaring victory in the battlefield state of South Carolina, saying it was premature and unconfirmed by official sources.

A message below the tweet, in which the campaign proclaimed that Trump had won the southern state, said that “it is possible that official sources did not call the race when this was tweeted,” the Politico reported.

The tweet, the social media giant said, violates a rule in place for this election that requires such tweets to be backed up by calls from at least two of the seven targeted news organizations.

Twitter, however, left alone a similar tweet from Trump’s campaign declaring victory in Florida because, the company said, it included a nod to one of seven participants approved by Twitter.

America’s largest social media companies have said in recent days that so-called premature declarations of victory were one of their top concerns as the country headed into this tense Election Day, especially on a night that is expected to be packed. of close contests throughout the country.

A final verdict on who wins the presidency could take days or weeks, depending on how the vote count, recounts, and various court battles unfold.

During the election campaign, Trump accused big tech companies of siding with Biden. Claiming that big tech companies don’t want him to win the presidential election.

When the reports last came in, Trump had 174 votes in the electoral college, behind 213 for his Democratic rival Joe Biden.

Trump was projected to win two major battle states, Florida and Ohio. He was leader in several other battlefield states of North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Nevada. Biden was leading in Arizona and Minnesota.
