The land of Kanjurmarg belongs to the Government of Maharashtra, MMRDA to continue their work


Amid the ongoing war of words between the leaders of Maha Vikas Aghadi and the BJP, cabinet minister Aaditya thackeray Tuesday he said that the MMRDA will continue with Mumbai subway I work in garage.

The development comes after the Center wrote to the Maharashtra government asking you to stop MMRDA from developing the car shed in Kanjurmarg as it would be “against the interests of the Government of India”.

Following that letter, a new round of war of words broke out between Maharashtra’s ruling coalition and the BJP, with ministers asserting that the land belongs to the state.



Now, Aaditya Thackeray, Shiv Sena The leader and Minister of Environment and Tourism in Thackeray sarkar, said that the Kanjurmarg land allocated by the Collector to MMRDA for the Metro car depot has always been with the Maharashtra government according to income records.

“The Collector, Mumbai Suburban has performed due diligence on all land records and all sub-judicial matters in all competent courts,” he added.

He also said that therefore the MMRDA will continue its work for Metro’s joint car depots in Kanjurmarg, as previously decided.

BJP MLA Ashish Shelar hit the led by Uddhav Thackeray MVA government claiming that it was creating a “hoax” about its operation.

In October, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray scrapped the Metro wagon shed at Aarey in the suburbs of Goregaon, which was chosen by the former BJP-led government and moved the train parking project to Kanjurmarg.
