Despite being a full week away from pre-ordering, Apple’s iPhone 12 mini somehow managed to get into the hands of Romanian tech journalist George Buhnici. He then posted a detailed hands-on video of the device where he gives us our first live look and compares it to the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro, further restoring the mini’s small stature.

At 131.5 x 64.2 x 7.4mm and 135 grams, the mini goes against the mainstream and finally offers a one-handed usable iPhone with Apple’s latest chipset. We can see the mini and its 5.4-inch Super Retina XDR OLED against the 12, 12 Pro, as well as last year’s 11 Pro Max, confirming just how tiny the new phone really is. The host also points out how easy the 12 mini is to store and also gives us a look at the front and rear cameras, which are identical to the regular iPhone 12.

Compared to another recent compact iPhone, the 2020 SE, it is 7mm shorter and 3mm narrower. It’s also the iPhone with the highest pixel-per-inch count so far at 476 PPI, although its notch seems a bit larger, as it’s the same size as the rest of the iPhone 12 series.
