Patna, Bihar:
Labelled “Jungle Raj ka Yuvraj“Of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tejashwi Yadav, the main opposition ministerial candidate in Bihar, accused him today of skipping” real problems “such as corruption, employment and the migration crisis.
“He is the prime minister of the country, he can say anything, I don’t want to react to that. But he came to Bihar, he could have talked about a special package, unemployment, more important issues,” Tejashwi Yadav told reporters.
“It is the largest party in the world (BJP), they are using 30 helicopters … if their prime minister talks like this, the public knows everything. But he should have spoken on issues such as poverty, factories, farmers, unemployment …” said the 31-year-old RJD leader.
Prime Minister Modi’s attack on Tejashwi Yadav was seen as the most direct so far in the campaign for Bihar, and was interpreted by the opposition camp as a sign of anxiety in the BJP, which rules the state in coalition with Nitish Kumar. The rallies in Tejashwi have drawn record crowds and the response to his electoral promise of government jobs has surprised the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
At a rally in Muzaffarpur, the Prime Minister referred to the 15-year rule of Tejashwi Yadav’s parents, Lalu Yadav and Rabri Devi, when he warned people not to return to “darkness”.
“The people of Bihar have no expectations of the”Yuvraj Of Jungle raj“(The Crown Prince of the Jungle Raj) because of his previous record,” said Prime Minister Modi. “It should be evaluated on the basis of a track record that people know much better than I do,” the prime minister added.
“Forget public sector jobs. Even private companies that provide jobs will flee,” said Prime Minister Modi, countering Tejashwi Yadav’s promise of 10 lakh of government jobs.
“The companies will close their offices and flee. The extortion calls will be made by those sponsored by the party that has copyright on the kidnappings,” said Prime Minister Modi, referring to allegations of illegality during the Lalu Yadav government.
Lalu Yadav is serving a prison sentence for corruption. Tejashwi Yadav, who has led the party in his father’s absence since 2018, has tried to distance himself from his parents’ record by keeping them out of his campaign material.
