Shameful! 21-year-old tuberculosis patient raped in the ICU of Gurugram hospital | Haryana News


Gurugram: A 21-year-old woman, admitted to Fortis Hospital in Sector-44 on October 21 for respiratory problems, has reported sexual assault by a hospital worker when she was unconscious during treatment from October 21 to 27.

The victim’s father reported the matter to the police on October 27 when she regained consciousness and disclosed her ordeal to her father. The woman told her father that the defendant’s name is Vikas. He also gave a three-page letter to his father in which he recounted the entire incident.

An FIR in connection with the incident was registered at Sushant Lok Police Station on Wednesday. After receiving the complaint, the police rushed to the hospital to take the woman’s statement, but doctors said that the woman was not in a position to give the statement.

According to the IANS news agency, Deputy Police Commissioner (east) Maqsood Ahmad said the matter is under investigation. The hospital record, CCTV images are being scanned.

“The victim is not in a position to give his statement. The victim’s statement will be taken only after authorization from doctors, he said.

“The case is being investigated. The woman’s parents do not even know if the defendant is a hospital employee or not. We are also questioning the hospital management about the incident. The situation will be clarified only after the woman gives her statement. More investigations are being carried out, “added DCP.

According to the police, the victim resides in Mahendragarh district and suffers from tuberculosis. Due to respiratory problems, she was placed on a ventilator.

The woman’s father had asked the police to give his daughter a medical examination. Meanwhile, Fortis Hospital has said it is cooperating fully with the police to investigate the matter.
