The Union Minister, Smriti Irani, announced on Wednesday that she tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) and asked those who had been in contact with her to get tested as soon as possible.

“It’s weird for me to search for words while making an announcement; so here I am, keeping it simple: I have tested positive for #COVID and would ask those who contacted me to get tested as soon as possible, ”the Union minister tweeted.

Irani is one of the prominent leaders of the BJP who has campaigned extensively in the state of Bihar for the ongoing Assembly elections. The minister of the Union for the Development of Women and Children (WCD) had also traveled to her constituency of Lok Sabha (LS), Amethi, last week and announced several projects for her constituency, which used to be the pocket neighborhood from the Gandhi family for years until he snatched the prestigious seat. by Rahul Gandhi in parliamentary polls last year, during the holiday season.

It was also his first visit to Amethi since the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) -induced lockdown restrictions, which have been in place since late March in an attempt to keep the viral infection at bay.
