Additionally, to ensure that social distancing can be followed at each polling station, the Electoral Commission (EC) has reduced the number of voters in each polling place to 1,000. As a result of this, the number of polling stations has increased to more than one lakh.

In the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections, the number exceeded 65,000.

In order to hold the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections safely amid the pandemic, the EC has organized more than seven lakh of hand sanitizer units, around 46 lakh of masks, 6 lakh of PPE kits, 6, 7 billion units of face shields, 23 lakh pairs of hand gloves, reported The times of India.

The mandate of the current Assembly will end on November 29. There are 243 seats in Bihar Assembly.
