NEW DELHI: Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp announced Tuesday that the two brands will travel together in India, selling a range of premium motorcycles.
Under a distribution agreement, Hero MotoCorp will sell and service Harley-Davidson motorcycles and sell parts and accessories, as well as general merchandise riding gear and apparel through a network of Harley-Davidson dealerships exclusive to the brand and the Hero’s existing dealer network in India.
As part of a licensing agreement, Hero MotoCorp will develop and sell a range of premium motorcycles under the Harley-Davidson brand.

These actions align with Harley-Davidson’s business review, The Rewire, and the company’s announcement in September to change its business model in India.
This arrangement is mutually beneficial for both Indian companies and motorcyclists as it unites the iconic Harley-Davidson brand with Hero MotoCorp’s strong distribution network and customer service.
American motorcycle manufacturer Harley-Davidson had said in September that it would cease its operations in India. Wisconsin-based Harley-Davidson closed its Haryana manufacturing plant and significantly downsized its sales office.
