Mumbai, October 27 () Actress Rhea Chakraborty petitioned the Bombay High Court on Tuesday to dismiss a petition filed by the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s two sisters to annul the FIR filed against him for falsifying and obtaining a false medical prescription for his brother. Chakraborty is accused of being an accessory to the suicide of the Rajput, who was her boyfriend.

The actress, who is the plaintiff in the case against Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh of Rajputs, filed an affidavit at the HC on Tuesday opposing her statement and said the allegations against her are serious.

Chakraborty also said that since the investigation in the case against the Rajput sisters is at an incipient stage, the investigating agency should be given time.

In the affidavit filed through her advocate Satish Maneshinde, the actress said that a fabricated and counterfeit prescription was used to help the Rajput purchase drugs that are prohibited by the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).

“Rajput died just five days after obtaining this prescription, in which he was illegally prescribed psychotropic substances at the urging of his sister (Priyanka) and Dr. Tarun Kumar,” Chakraborty said in his affidavit.

It is necessary to investigate whether the Rajput used the prescription drugs, which may have contributed to his death and / or further deteriorated his mental health, according to the affidavit.

The request (of the Rajput sisters) should be tempered, he said.

Chakraborty in his affidavit said that Rajput had a “tumultuous relationship” with his family and also suffered from mental problems for which he was receiving medical treatment.

In November 2019, Rajput was examined by three psychiatrists who opined that he suffered from bipolar disorder and prescribed medication, according to the affidavit submitted by the actress, adding that Rajput was fine until he took his medications regularly.

“In January 2020, the Rajput went to Chandigarh to meet his family. After returning, he said that he was discontinuing his medications and treatment,” the affidavit states.

“In March 2020, when the country was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and the closure was announced, the Rajput seemed stable initially, but with each passing day his mental health began to deteriorate,” he said.

“The death of actors Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan also had a tremendous impact on Sushant Singh Rajput, who appeared to have fallen into a spiral of depression. He (Rajput) also refused treatment and / or medication,” the statement reads. sworn.
