Samsung Galaxy S21 box may not include charger or headphones

Now there are reports that the Samsung Galaxy S21 box may not include a charger or headphones. By doing this, the company would be following in Apple’s footsteps. It recently released the iPhone 12 which doesn’t come with any of these accessories in the box.

Apple has said that it made this decision for environmental reasons. However, there has been no price review. Their phones don’t cost less because they no longer come with a charger. This gives the company the opportunity to increase its margins. Now it is believed that Samsung is thinking along the same lines.

It seems that Samsung can also ditch the headphones and chargers

This is going to be ironic. Samsung’s social media team was quite harsh on sarcasm when Apple made its announcement about removing the charger and headphones. However, it won’t be surprising if Samsung eventually takes this path, because it would make business sense.

Korean media are reporting that Samsung is considering ditching both the headphones and the charger from the Galaxy S21 box. Such a move would apply to the entire lineup. Some experts believe that even if Samsung doesn’t get rid of both, it could take the headphones out of the box and ship the device with just a charger.

Samsung already has customers purchase a separate charger if they want to use the 45W charging speeds that some of their devices support. Those devices come with a 25W charger in the box. We can expect it to remain that way even if the headphones are removed.

There is a precedent for Samsung not shipping headphones with a flagship smartphone. US customers do not get the AKG USB-B headphones with the Galaxy Note 20 series. They can get them for free by contacting customer service, but not everyone who buys the phone will or even know that this is One option.

It remains to be seen whether or not Samsung will cut the price of the Galaxy S21 if it removes these accessories. Obviously, the company would aim to increase the individual sales of its chargers and push customers to buy its Galaxy Buds wireless headphones. Either way, this will help Samsung increase its margins on the device, even if it disappoints some fans.
