Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said on Sunday that India wanted the current border tensions with China to end and peace to prevail, but would not allow anyone to take an inch of its land from it.

Light diya to honor soldiers at the borders

We must think of our brave-hearted soldiers, who are on the borders even during these festive times. We must light a ‘diya’ at home in his honor.

Rajnath Singh made the remarks after performing ‘Shastra Puja’, the customary weapon cult on the occasion of Dasehra, at the Sukna headquarters of the 33rd Corps in Darjeeling district. “The brave soldiers of India have sacrificed their lives (for the safety of India). We want the border tension between Indochina to end and peace to be maintained. But unpleasant incidents keep happening. However, I am confident that our soldiers will not allow anyone to take over our land an inch, “he said.

He was accompanied by Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane.

We must surpass China

We should be more powerful than China in military readiness, economic conditions, international relations.

Rajnath inaugurated a new road in Sikkim – Alternate Alignment for Gangtok-Nathu La Road – via videoconference from 33 Corps headquarters. The new alignment was required as the existing one is badly damaged. The road serves as an important link to reinforce defense readiness in the Nathu La and East Sikkim sector. Nathu La is in LAC and is the designated meeting point for the Army and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. The defense minister was scheduled to hold the bid at Sherathang, a high-altitude border post just 2 km from LAC with China in Sikkim, but was unable to go due to bad weather, which prevented his helicopter from taking off.

The Minister of Defense congratulated the BRO on its commitment to deliver an infrastructure of exceptional quality in record time and at optimal costs.
