Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra to keep 108MP main camera and 40MP selfie camera, claims leaker

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra won’t be a huge departure from the current model, according to information from the leaks. And if you’re thinking it’s too early for leaks, Samsung is reportedly pushing the launch of the S21 up to January.

The new Ultra will have a slightly smaller screen, one tenth of an inch at 6.8 ”, and these will be the only curved panels: the S21 and S21 + will have flat screens. Also, the refresh rate may have a slight increase to 144Hz (that’s not sure yet).

The Galaxy S21 Ultra will use a 108MP main camera on the rear and a 40MP selfie camera. The resolutions are the same as the S20 Ultra, but there may be other updates. There are no details about the remaining modules yet, although versions show that the Ultra will have four cameras on the back this time, one of which has a periscope lens. The role of the fourth model is unclear.

Samsung will once again divide the world into Snapdragon 875 countries and Exynos 2100 countries. The new in-house chipset will use standard ARM-designed cores, avoiding problem custom cores. Still, the (very) early benchmarks show that it lags behind the Qualcomm chip.

Regardless, the phone will be equipped with a 5,000 mAh battery, just like the current model. Load upgrades are unlikely (although there is an external 65W load possibility). The software will be quite familiar too, as the phone will launch with Android 11-based One UI 3.0 (already being beta-tested on the S20 series).

With the Unpacked event scheduled for January, the new Galaxy S21 series is expected to go on sale in February instead of March.
