The seaplane that will connect Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad with the Statue of Unity in Kevadia, Narmada landed in Kochi from Male, Maldives. The seaplane will arrive in Gujarat on Monday and will be inaugurated on October 31 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mark the 146th anniversary of the birth of Sardar Patel.
The seaplane is a Twin Otter 300 registered to M / s Spicejet Technic, which will be operated by SpiceJet. A 19-seater seaplane to be used for flights between the Sabarmati River and the Statue of Unity from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat as part of the regional connectivity scheme between the Sabarmati River and the Statue of Unity.
The 19-seater seaplane will be able to accommodate 12 passengers at a cost of Rs 4,800 per person. The air distance between Ahmedabad and Kevadia is about 200 kilometers. The seaplane will take about 45 minutes to cover the distance.

The plane, which landed safely in the Venduruthy Canal to stop traffic, is scheduled to arrive in Ahmedabad on Monday, where the country’s inaugural seaplane service will launch between the bank of the Sabarmati River and the Statue of Unity in the Narmada district.
“The seaplane received assistance with docking facilities at the naval jetty and refueling for its voyage,” said a defense spokesman.
“Seaplanes are a natural option for connectivity between the mainland and the Lakshadweep Islands. The inland waterways in Kochi and the sheltered lagoons on the islands provide an ideal space for seaplanes to land and take off, ”he said.
Representatives from SpiceJet, Indian Navy, Cochin International Airport Limited and the district administration were present to oversee the traffic stop.
