Bihar Assembly Elections 2020: Tejashwi Yadav lashed out at the government over onion prices.

Rashtriya Janata Dal’s leader, Tejashwi Yadav, was seen this morning holding a garland of onions, hitting the center because of rising vegetable prices. Yadav’s attack comes two days before Bihar votes in the first phase of the assembly elections.

“The common man is suffering due to inflation, corruption and unemployment. Work and business have stagnated. Farmers, workers, youth and merchants are struggling to meet their food needs. The BJP has killed small businessmen. round with onion garlands when there is a price increase. Now, we give them this, “Yadav, 31, tweeted in Hindi, along with two photos of him and another leader holding onion garlands.

Yadav, who has focused his election campaign on his promise of 10 lakh jobs if elected to power, once again pointed out that employment is a key issue in the state.

“Those who spoke of the onion when it touched 50-60 rupees per kg are now silent when it has exceeded 80 rupees per kg. Farmers are being destroyed, the youth are unemployed. Bihar is poor and people are migrating for education , work and medical aid. Hunger is increasing, “he told reporters, attacking the government.

Onion prices have skyrocketed in various parts of the country in recent weeks, with prices touching rupees. Rs 90-100 per kg, following damage to the standing kharif crop in production areas due to heavy rains and hoarding.

On Friday, the center imposed stock limits on both retailers and wholesales effective until December 31 in order to boost the national supply and provide relief to consumers.

The Minister of Consumer Affairs, Piyush Goyal, tweeted that the Narendra Modi government has taken another step to curb hoarding and control prices. Stock limits have been imposed on onion retailers and wholesalers.

The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7. The result will be declared on November 10.
