IPL 2020 LIVE SCORE, Rajasthan Royals vs Mumbai Indians latest updates: Pattinson at 19. DONE AND DUSTED! Stokes with the winning limit. Solid partnership between Stokes and Samson and that has taken them over the finish line with 10 balls to spare. Even one lens, a 196, wasn’t big enough for RR. RR has beaten MI by 8 wickets.
Advance: It’s that moment of the IPL season when desperation creeps in. The playoff race heats up and teams are doing their best to clinch the top four. The second half of the table is struggling to break into the top half and one of the teams struggling to stay afloat is the Rajasthan Royals. They are languishing seconds from the bottom with eight points.
They haven’t achieved consistency all season and that is why they are struggling at a crucial moment. After winning against CSK, they lost to SRH in their last match. Hitters could have done better and bowling let them down when SRH chased down 155 with 11 balls and eight wickets to spare.
RR somehow doesn’t have the correct batting order and that has hurt them. Ben Stokes has found it difficult to open batting and lacked fluidity. Steve Smith has not shot in this tournament. Samson, as always, has shown sparks that have not yet lit fire. Jos Buttler has been hot and cold, his move to the middle order worked against CSK, but against SRH he would only rack up 9 runs. Robin Uthappa showed glimpses of his old self when he was sent to open batting for the first time, against RCB, but came back with just 19 in the last game.
Maybe, they need to go back to the opening of Jos Buttler and Rahul Tewatia moving up the order.
In the bowling department, RR needs a rhythm to support Jofra Archer, who has been brilliant throughout the tournament. The spinners, who have controlled the over in the middle, ran out of gates in the last game. Kartik Tyagi needs to improve his game after being taken by 42 runs of 3.1 overs against SRH. A much better bowling effort is the need of the moment.
MI, on the other hand, is playing excellent cricket and has recorded seven wins in 10 matches so far. After losing the thriller Super Over to KXIP, they got back on track with a landslide 10-wicket win over CSK. They have performed well in all respects. Trent Boult has been brilliant at Powerplay. Rahul Chahar has been excellent in the middle, while Jasprit Bumrah has been excellent in both Powerplay and death. Ishan Kishan got back in shape against CSK with a 68 to 37 balls. Quinton de Kock has looked incomparable after a slow start. They are a very balanced team and hope that Rohit Sharma, who missed the last game with injury, will be in a position to face RR. If he’s in shape, Saurabh Tiwary may have to make way for the captain. With RR struggling to stay afloat and MI flying high with confidence, we can expect a cracker.
