‘I should be ashamed’: Uddhav Thackeray’s 7 bitter attacks on BJP, Center in Dussehra speech

Maharashtra Prime Minister Uddhav Thackeray stormed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Center on Sunday when he picked up various problems, from his promise of the Covid-19 vaccination survey in Bihar to what he called the failure of Goods and Services Tax Regime (GST).

Thackeray, while speaking at his party, Shiv Sena’s annual Dussehra rally, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should acknowledge the failure of the GST and return to the old tax regime. The prime minister also criticized the promise of the BJP survey of Covid-19 vaccination in Bihar by questioning the party’s understanding of why the rest of the country does not deserve the same medical assistance to fight the pandemic.

“It’s been a year. From the day I became CM, it was said that the state government would be overthrown. I challenge and say if you have the courage, go ahead and show it, ”he said at the annual Dussehra rally held at the Savarkar hall in Dadar due to coronavirus regulations rather than the usual venue, the sprawling Shivaji Park.

Here are the seven scathing attacks made by Uddhav Thackeray in his Dussehra speech:

1. On Hindutva’s fight with the Governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari

We are asked about Hindutva. That is why we do not reopen temples in the state. They say my Hindutva is different from Balasaheb Thackeray’s. Your Hindutva is about ringing bells and utensils, our Hindutva is not like that.

2. About the Covid-19 vaccine in the BJP Bihar survey manifesto

He promises a free Covid-19 vaccine in Bihar, then they are people from other states of Bangladesh or Kazakhstan. Those who speak like this should be ashamed of themselves. You are in the Center.

3. On the accusations against her son Aaditya Thackeray in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput

Those who cry out for justice for the son of Bihar are allowing the murder of the character of the son of Maharashtra.

4. About the GST regime

The GST regime implemented by the government has failed and Prime Minister Modi should recognize it and return to the old fiscal regime. We (Maharashtra) have not yet obtained our Rs 38,000 crore as GST refund.

5. On the Center’s handling of the Covid-19 disease outbreak

Something peculiar is happening all over the country. Across the country, Covid-19 has impacted the economy, but the government’s focus is on toppling governments in other states. The BJP is inviting anarchy by doing so. Instead of the ‘no alternative’ factor as was the case before, people have now started to think that anyone will do it except you.

6. On the Dussehra speech by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat

The RSS chief said that Hindutva has been reduced to just observing puja rituals. Those who wear black caps like him should understand this if they have brains. I have no happiness in closing places. The lifting of restrictions is being done cautiously and gradually.

7. On Kangana Ranaut equating Mumbai with Pakistani-occupied Kashmir

People who have no livelihood at home come to Mumbai and betray it. Calling Mumbai PoK is, in fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s failure. He had said that he would return to PoK to India.
