From Anil Kumble to Varun Chakravarthy

On Saturday, October 24, Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) Varun Chakravarthy he became the first bowler to get a five-course course at the current IPL. The tweaker accomplished the feat against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Chakravarthy got his first window when DC needed about 12 runs over. The roulette wheel fired Rishabh Pant, who tried to smash him over the square leg region. From there, Varun did not look back. He fired the DC captain Shreyas Iyer, Shimron Hetmyer and Marcus Stoinis Y Axar Patel.

On the back of their spectacular bowling spell, KKR restricted the Capitals to 135 for nine, winning the game by 59 runs.

The record for bowling figures by an Indian in IPL history, meanwhile, continues with great twist Anil Kumble who appeared in three tournament seasons between 2008 and 2010, capturing 45 wickets in 42 games.

In 2009, Kumble led the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to a resounding 75-race victory over the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Newlands, Cape Town. RCB was defending a modest total of 133 and had reduced his RR to 28-5 after 4.5 overs. Then Kumble rushed into the attack and wrapped up the middle order and tail picking up the remaining five terrains.
