Here’s a look at some of the key points from his speech:
- Dussehra is also a festival of victory for patience over crises. Today, all of you live in great moderation, celebrating the holidays with modesty. Therefore, in the battle of Covid-19, we are fighting, victory is certain.
- This time, amid the excitement of the festival, when shopping, be sure to remember your ‘vocal for local’ determination. When buying goods from the market, give priority to local products.
- The world is taking notice of our products. An important example is Khadi.
- When we take pride in our own things, the world’s curiosity about them also increases. Like our spirituality, Yoga, Ayurveda has attracted the whole world. Many of our indigenous sports also attract worldwide attention.
- Salute our brave soldiers who are firmly stationed on our borders in the line of duty.
- During festivals, remember the times of confinement when we met those close associates of society without whom our lives would have been very difficult. Sanitation workers, housekeepers and guards were with us in difficult times, now at festivals, we have to take them.
- Let us continue efforts towards national integration. At all times we have to carry out the entire spectrum of values that unite us.
- Unity is power, unity is strength, unity is progress, unity is empowerment, united we will scale new heights.
- On October 31 we lost former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. I respectfully offer you tributes.
- We must also remember our brave soldiers, who protect our borders even during these festive times. We should celebrate only after remembering them. We must light a lamp for these brave sons and daughters of Mother India. The whole nation is with them.
