In the second half, the Sunrisers got off to a good start thanks to their starters. David warner (35 of 20b; 3×4, 2×6) and Jonny bairstow (19 of 20b; 4×4). They added 56 runs in 6.2 overs.
However, they gave in under pressure as pitching slowed, and the Kings XI applied pressure with their excellent bowling and fielding. The Sunrisers ultimately fell short by 12 runs, handing a fourth straight victory to Kings XI Punjab, increasing their chances of qualifying for the playoffs.
For Kings XI, Arshdeep Singh (3/23) and Chris Jordan (3/17) they were the destroyer-in-chief. Leg shooter Ravi Bishnoi (1/13) was also brilliant on the ball.
Previously, the Sunrisers bowlers responded impressively to their patron David Warner’s decision to line up first, choosing grounds at regular intervals to control innings.
KXIP pattern KL Rahul (27), Mandeep Singh (17) and Chris Gayle (20) everyone started, but their tickets never got going because they couldn’t get the momentum. SRH also perfectly planned the firing of Chris Gayle.

They kept the big hitter quiet for a long time, constantly pulling the width of the stump and frustrating him in the process. Gayle repeatedly tried to get out of the shackles, but was rejected by his West Indies teammate Jason Holder (2/27), caught at length by Warner in the 10th.
Rashid Khan (2/14) then went through Rahul’s defense on the first ball of the next envelope when KXIP dropped to 66 for three. After that, it was all downhill for the Kings XI. From there, the rebuilding never took off. Glenn Maxwell’s terrible streak (12 at 13b) continued with another failure.
Mandeep loses his father
CHANDIGARH: Punjab captain and KXIP hitter Mandeep Singh lost his father Hardev Singh, who succumbed after a prolonged illness in a Chandigarh hospital. His death was confirmed by IPL stations, after the batter retired to open the innings on Saturday. KXIP players were seen sporting black armbands at Saturday’s game honoring Mandeep’s late father.
When Singh came out to bat, some of the Sunrisers players comforted him, including his main spinner, Rashid Khan. A couple of years ago, Khan had lost his father while playing for the Adelaide Strikers at the Big Bash. Khan had also chosen to continue playing at the time.
