Former CM Devendra Fadnavis from Maharashtra Tests Positive for Covid-19

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Saturday that he tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and is in isolation. The leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reported on Twitter that he is under medication and treatment based on the advice of doctors.

Fadnavis is in charge of the BJP’s election campaign for the assembly elections in Bihar, which will be held in three phases on October 28, November 3 and November 7. “God wants me to stop for a while and take a break,” Fadnavis said. The vote count will take place on November 10.

“I’ve been working every day since closing, but now it seems like God wants me to stop for a while and take a break! I have tested Covid-19 positive and in isolation. Taking all medications and treatments according to the advice of doctors, “he wrote on Twitter.

The BJP leader asked those who contacted him recently to also get tested for the virus. “Those who have contacted me are advised to get tested for covid19. Take care, everyone! “He said.

Bihar’s Senior Deputy Minister Sushil Kumar Modi had tested positive for Covid-19 just a few days ago. In a tweet, the BJP leader had said that he had been admitted to the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Patna and that he would soon return to run election campaigns in the state.

In its election manifesto released Thursday for Bihar, the BJP promised to provide a free vaccine for Covid-19 as soon as it was available for mass production, a promise that sparked a political storm in the nation with several other states following suit.
