As the political heat in Bihar, linked to the polls, simmers, Prime Minister and JD (U) chief Nitish Kumar on Friday launched an all-out attack on the RJD leader and chief ministerial candidate of the Grand Alliance, Tejashwi Yadav.
While addressing an election rally in the Teghra constituency, Nitish Kumar said: “Kahin koi ek school banaya tha … agar padhna chahte ho toh apne baap se pucho … apni maata se pucho … kahi koi school tha, ya ban raha tha“(Was there even a school built? If you want to know, ask your father … ask your mother. Was there a school? Was a school being built?).
Kumar was targeting Tejashwi’s father and ex-CM from Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav, who is currently incarcerated on corruption charges, and his wife Rabri Devi.
“Raaj karne ka mauka mila..raaj karke grahan karte rahe… aur andar chale gye toh patni ko baitha diya gaddi pe..yahi sab toh shawl raha tha stithi, ”(When there was a chance to govern… they kept making money… and when they went to jail they made his wife sit in the chair. All of this was happening back then), Kumar said at the rally.
At the rally, Kumar, who has been declared the face of the NDA CM, also listed the achievements of his successive governments in the past 15 years and vowed to further accelerate development work if a vote to return to power was made.

The head of JD (U) had also made similar comments in the past. Once he hit Yadav’s party, Kumar said that “those who neglected education, health and road construction and took time to encourage the ‘raj of the jungle’ today are talking about development … no it’s more than a joke. “
Dismissing the promise of the RJD survey to create 10 lakhs of jobs, Kumar said that those (Tejashwi Yadav) who have no knowledge of the alphabet or experience are talking about creating jobs. “Some people who don’t even have literacy skills or experience are talking about hiring others… this is ridiculous,” he said during an election rally in Alauli. However, the BJP ally – JD (U) – later promised 19 lakh jobs in his election manifesto.
“We want everyone to study, but some people want to have everything without an education,” he said pointing to Tejashwi, who dropped out of the ninth grade class.
The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled to take place in three phases, starting on October 28. Results will be declared on November 10.
