Exceptional SRH with choke
They have collectively lowered the limits given to a drip at best. There hasn’t been one for a period of 9 through the middle. Some excellent execution of plans.
WICKET: Rashid Strikes Again
Deepak Hooda is caught unbalancing after reaching out to break his legs. The ball hits the bat and Bairstow rushes to remove the bails. Very good bowler and goalkeeper cricket.
WICKET: Maxwell falls to Sandeep
SRH is just not taking his foot off. Sandeep Sharma returns to the attack and Maxwell sways on the ground, only to be captured by a long diving Warner.
TICKETS: Gayle, Rahul depart
Holder has Gayle hitting flat and straight long, and shortly after Rashid Khan goes through the door with a googly to send KL Rahul back. KXIP loses two in 66 and remains under control.
SRH loses a review
Rashid Khan is pushing for an LBW review against Chris Gayle, who looks sinister. The ball hits Gayle’s pad first, but he was throwing off the leg. Signs of despair.
WICKET: Mandeep comes out
Sandeep Sharma gives SRH the breakthrough. Mandeep tried to pick up the medium pace and ends up dodging a big punch, Rashid Khan calmly settles in and takes a good catch.
What the captains said:
David Warner: I think the last game showed that a little dew came towards the end. Towards the back there was a little rhythm in the window. Every game presents a new challenge, these guys are on a roll and it was good for us to win the last game and get some momentum as well. We’ve talked a lot about our middle order and it was nice to see the guys play safe in the last game.
KL Rahul: I too would have liked to go bowling. We’ve hit seconds in the last few games we’ve won. The wicket shouldn’t change much, it looks good. Obviously, winning gives the group a lot of confidence, especially when it comes to the top three teams. Different people have raised their hands in all three games, which was nice. We had to win every game in the second half and we are going to do it one game at a time.
Launch: Khaleel replaces Nadeem; SRH chooses to chase
Just one change for SRH, which incorporates another left arm seamer into the mix. The most interesting changes are in the other field. Mayank Agarwal and James Neesham lose and enter Mandeep Singh and Chris Jordan.
KL Rahul doesn’t mention it, but Mayank’s absence is due to injury, possibly recovered when he fell during his career against DC. He was visibly limping on his way back to the dugout.

The preparation
Two teams that have had a mediocre tournament thus far enter this game encouraged with the confidence of victories behind them. KXIP came into the game with a rich streak of form having scalped the top three in the points table, but SRH will also not be lacking in the belief that they have recorded a convincing victory over Rajasthan. With the mid-table equations increasingly stringent, each game will be of great importance. Stay tuned for team releases and updates in a moment.
