Promoted to open tickets, Nitish frog reveled in his new role when he overcame a personal tragedy to crush a whirlwind 81 and shared a revolutionary 115-race position with Sunil narine (64) to lift KKR to an impressive 194/6 after being put at bat.
Chasing a rigid target, Chakravarthy (5/20) and Pat Cummins (3/17) gave the Delhi Capitals hitters a torrid moment to restrict them to 135 for 9 in 20 overs.
Cummins got off to a perfect start, ruling out starters Ajinkya Rahane (0) and fit Shikhar Dhawan (6) in his first two overs.

Chakravarthy then played the runner-up act at the end of the innings to drown out the DC chase.
After a horror batting show against Royal Challengers Bangalore when they collapsed to 84/8, KKR ticked all the boxes to keep their playoff hopes alive by securing their sixth win, with three games remaining.
For DC, this was their second loss in a row, but they still held second place.
Captain Sheryas Iyer was DC’s leading scorer with 47 as he, along with Rishabh Pant (27), held on after Cummins’ double hit. They took on the attack from the opposition in the second half, but KKR’s strategy of pushing Chakravarthy paid off.

The spinner opened his account after Pant hit the deep square leg and in his next over he hit two of two, knocking out Shimron Hetmyer (10) and Iyer from consecutive balls.
Hetmyer fell while trying to clear the long limit, while Iyer failed to connect well and Kamlesh Nagarkoti caught him in the long run.
On his next over, Chakravarthy fired Marcus Stoinis and then picked his five on the fifth ball, clearing Axar Patel with a fastball.
Earlier, Nitish Rana reveled in his new opening role with a whirlwind of 81, while Sunil Narine, playing in his first game after being cleared of suspicious bowling, broke a 64 of 32 balls to propel KKR to 194 of 6 after being asked to hit.
Promoted to start, Rana broke 13 fours and a six on his 81 of 53 balls, while Narine also shot out, hitting four sixes and six fours as KKR put back their horror show against Royal Challengers Bangalore to post a stiff total.
The left-handed duo stitched 115 runs of just 59 balls to build on momentum.
Having collapsed 84 in his last match against RCB, KKR once again looked down the cannon 42/3 after 7.2 overs.

Anrich Nortje seized the lands of Shubman Gill (9) and Rahul Tripathi (13) underperforming within the Powerplay, while Kagiso Rabada represented Dinesh Karthik (3).
Just as KKR’s story on hitting problems began to unfold, Rana stepped into the rescue act, leading the attack on experienced R Ashwin in a 13-run over.
Frog first hit Ashwin’s thrown delivery by a six and followed it with a cap.
In the next over, Narine joined in to continue KKR’s racing feast at the back end of the innings in an incredible partnership.
DC brought Nortje back but there was no respite for them and Rana went up to fifty with an outside advantage.
He was then seen dedicating his half century to his father-in-law, who recently died of cancer, displaying a custom KKR T-shirt as a special tribute to him.
