Lending weight to Bihar’s electoral route, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a scathing attack on the NDA’s main rivals, RJD and Congress, while also sending a message all the way to Jammu, Kashmir and Punjab.
“These parties say that they will bring him back (Article 370) if they come to power. And after saying this, they dare to ask for votes in Bihar. Isn’t this an insult to Bihar, which sends its sons and daughters to the border, ”said the prime minister in his first speech in Sasaram. “They can do whatever it takes, India will not back down from the decision,” he added.
The prime minister, who today referred to Bihar as the “country’s rice bowl,” also criticized “supportive intermediaries and brokers on behalf of MSP” in Punjab. “MSP is just an excuse, the truth is that they want to protect the intermediaries, the brokers,” he said.
Liberally using the local dialect in his speeches, the prime minister evoked national and Bihari pride, recalling the martyred soldiers in the Galwan Valley. Endorsing Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, he proposed a “twin engine” growth / development to seek votes for the NDA.
