Former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev reportedly suffered a heart attack early Friday morning and had to undergo emergency angioplasty surgery.
Indian Express reported that the 1983 World Cup winning captain has been hospitalized at Fortis Hospital in the capital.
Kapil Dev tweeted late at night that he is well on his way to recovery. Thank you for all the love and concern. I am overwhelmed with good wishes and well on my way to recovery, ”he tweeted.
Regarded as one of the best SUVs ever seen in the game, Kapil, 61, was admitted to the emergency department at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) at 1:00 am Friday with a complaint of pain. in the chest, ANI informed the hospital authorities that, they affirmed the following.
The hospital further said they performed an emergency coronary angioplasty in the middle of the night.
After the news, social networks have been in an uproar with his fans and followers wishing him a speedy recovery.
