The Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, has introduced a facial recognition system, FRS to access digital documents in DigiLocker and Parinam Manjusha. Candidates would not need to enter their Aadhar number or mobile phone number every time they need to download their grade sheets or documents for the 10th and 12th.
According to an official statement released by the Board, “Using the state-of-the-art CBSE facial recognition system will allow students to download their digital academic papers from classes 10 and 12. A live image of the student will be compared to the photograph on the CBSE admission card that is already stored in the repository, and once successful, the certificate will be emailed to the student “
The credentials have been communicated to the candidates on their registered mobile numbers available with the Board. This practice has been followed for the last five years. Students with incorrect mobile numbers have the option to open Digilocker by providing their Aadhar details. However, in the case of a foreign student and a student without an Aadhar number, the Digilocker opening is still a problem. “For these students, state-of-the-art ‘Face Matching Technology’ has been introduced as another option for downloading digital academic papers,” the Board said.
The application is available for download in the direct link shared here.
CBSE was a pioneer in providing digital academic documents through its academic repository called “Parinam Manjusha” and DigiLocker. Results data from 2004 to 2020 are also available in the repository. Approximately 12 million rupees of digital academic papers are available in the Digi locker for students to access. “The digital lockers regarding all students taking the board exams are being opened in advance and their digital academic documents, that is, grade sheets, migration certificates and approval certificates, are published on the day of the statement of results, “said the official statement released. by CBSE Board
