Kris Srikkanth, the former captain of India and head of the selection committee, criticized Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s “ridiculous” calls to the Chennai Super Kings at the current IPL and asked what “spark” he saw in the underperforming Kedar Jadhav.
Srikkanth was referring to Dhoni’s comment that the youngsters on the Chennai Super Kings team did not show the necessary spark to challenge the older ones and enter the eleven at stake.

“I will never accept what Dhoni is saying about this process,” Srikkanth told ‘Star Sports Tamil.
“This process that you keep talking about does not make sense. You keep talking about process, process … but the selection process itself is wrong. “What’s the deal with Dhoni? He says that (N) Jagadeesan (capless wicketkeeper-batsman) has no spark, but does the Jadhav ‘scooter’ have that spark? This is ridiculous. Today I will not accept this answer. All this talk about the process and the Chennai tournament itself is over, ”he added.
Jagadeesan has only played one game so far.
CSK are currently at the bottom of the heap and succumbed to a seven-field loss to the Rajasthan Royals here on Monday for their seventh loss in the lucrative league’s 13th edition.

Srikkanth, who was the team’s mentor and CSK brand ambassador at the inaugural IPL, also questioned Piyush Chawla’s selection.
“Dhoni now says that since there is no pressure, he will give young people a chance. Come on yaar. I don’t understand this garbage about the process at all.
“Karn Sharma at least took windows. Chawla simply follows the movements of the bowling pins, and begins when the game is already lost. There is no doubt that Dhoni is great, but I cannot agree with him or accept this. ”Dhoni’s comments, after the game, were met with severe criticism on social media.
“It’s fair, this season we really weren’t there,” Dhoni said at the presentation ceremony.
“Also the young people, we didn’t see the spark to push the boys. But what this result has done is give those youngsters a chance in the rest of the tournament.
“Maybe in the future we will bring them in and play without pressure.”
